Once the business is up and running, it is a great idea to take a second look at the company’s website. Optimizing a business website for maximum visibility and effectiveness is a critical part of maintaining a positive web presence.
A well-built website can mean the difference between a hundred views per day and a few thousand views per day. The more user-friendly a website is, the more a business will see a boost in their sales numbers. Take a look at a quick overview of a few of the most essential tab sections included in every well-built website.
Home tab section
The home page of any website should always be representative of what the company has to offer users. This is the time when designers have three to five seconds to lock in a web user’s attention.
Over time, our attention spans have gradually shortened to almost nothing. The speed in which information is delivered to the palms of our hands assures that there are not very many people willing to wait for the point of the site to reveal itself.
Products and services
The products and services tab of a website is where the business showcases what it has to offer. Whatever the site is selling (whether it be information or property) should be clearly defined in the products and services section of a site.
Take a look at this excellent example of a very well defined product page. The product specific information is laid out in a clean and easy to read format. Not much is left to the imagination.
About us section
The “About Us” section of a website is the company’s chance to build rapport with web users. Here is where designers have a chance to show how and why the business is in operation.
The “About Us” tab will explain the mission statement or main goals of the business. Explain the company’s history and how it fits into the current marketplace.
Contact us provides communication
A potential customer’s ability to communicate with the company in question weighs heavily upon a person’s decision to continue working with a business. When people feel as though their grievances or questions are being heard, they are far more likely to continue working with the company in the future.
Provide a brick and mortar address and telephone number, if possible. Provide an easy to follow contact form on the “Contact Us” page, and make sure that someone is there to respond.
Blog entries hold enriching content
The blog section of a website is a designer’s chance to flood the world with awesome information and build some backlinks in the process. Enriching content is excellent for drawing in loyal visitors.
